Starting several months ago, DeKalb County
Police Department began offering online crime maps that indicate
what crimes occurred where. The time frame can be
specified by the user, up to a three month window preceding
today's date. The map to the left shows the part of Brookhaven
that is in DeKalb County and the crimes committed there between
6/1/2009 and 8/31/2009.

Similar to DeKalb County, the Atlanta Police
Department also offers a crime mapping service online.
However, unlike DeKalb County, where up to a two month window of
crimes can be viewed at a time, Atlanta PD restricts its view to
two weeks. It is also not updated as quickly as DeKalb
county, and typically runs two weeks behind actual time. The
map to the left shows crimes in the City of Atlanta section of
Brookhaven from 8/9/2009 to 8/22/2009.

If you see any suspicious behavior,
please call 911 immediately - do not call Brookhaven Security.
Also, if your cell phone has a camera, do not hesitate to photograph
what you see, as this may be helpful to police later.
